Helping Educate the Children of Belize

The Schoolbag Foundation

About Us

Our Mission

The Schoolbag Foundation is a non-profit organization established exclusively for school children in Belize to experience the enhancement of education within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3), including for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. The purposes for which it is organized are as follows: (a) Provide financial scholarships to students in Belize for tuition and books on a yearly basis. (b) Provide financial assistance to the construction and renovations of school buildings. (c) Provide financial assistance to the purchasing of school supplies and school furniture. (d) Provide financial assistance to the purchasing of fine arts and sporting extracurricular equipment for students.
The Schoolbag foundation also saw a need for more schools in Belize as some students have to walk as much as four miles to school each day. The space within the existing schools to accommodate many underprivileged elementary school children was identified as an issue. We are now assisting with funding the construction of the Fel Briceño Academy. This school will serve elementary aged children with the necessary classrooms, teachers, and will be located in the area where these students live.
