The Schoolbag Foundation recognized a critical need for additional schools in Belize, where many children walk up to four miles each day to attend class. Existing schools often lack the space to accommodate underprivileged elementary students, creating barriers to consistent education. To help address this, we are supporting the construction of the Fel Briceño Academy—a new elementary school built directly within the community it will serve. This academy will provide proper classrooms, qualified teachers, and a safe learning environment for the children who need it most.
Dylan is our 2026 incoming freshman and the proud recipient of the Netty Johnson Memorial Scholarship, an honor reserved for students who demonstrate exceptional character, dedication, and potential. This fall, he will begin his high school journey at Orange Walk Technical High School in Orange Walk Town, Belize.
Dylan is a gifted student with a curious mind and a deep fascination with science. He dreams of becoming an engineer one day—drawn to the idea of creating, building, and solving problems that make life better for others. His ambition is fueled by love: he hopes to support his mother and younger siblings in the future, giving back to the family that has supported him so faithfully.
Despite his youth, Dylan carries a faith that feels far beyond his years. Every Sunday, he serves God and his community as an altar boy, offering his time with humility, devotion, and a quiet strength that speaks volumes about his character.
We are truly excited for Dylan as he begins his high school career. His determination, kindness, and faith set him apart, and we are honored to walk alongside him as he steps into this new chapter of his life.
